About me
Managing Editor for Science for Environment Policy, a news and information service, produced by the Science Communication Unit, UWE on behalf of the European Commission’s Environment Directorate-General.
Science for Environment Policy communicates environmental research findings in easy-to-understand formats to policymakers across Europe, strengthening the connection between scientific evidence and policy. The service has nearly 20 000 subscribers – you can sign up on the SfEP website if you are interested in finding out more.
Associate Lecturer in science writing; online science writing; using social media to communicate science; and communicating science for policy engagement.
Interests include determining the best practice for science-policy interfaces; climate change and environmental politics; interdisciplinary approaches to
complex social and environmental problems (i.e. the intersections between
science, law, politics, communications and behaviour); policy and public decision-making; the law and politics of consent; benefit sharing from natural resources; transitions to sustainable food systems; environmental rights; land rights; and communications for change.
