About me

Sakineh recently joined the School of Engineering as a Lecturer in Materials and Structures, and she is an affiliate member in the School of Engineering at University of Glasgow (UofG). She graduated with honours PhD (June 2021) and MSc (June 2015) degrees in mechanical engineering, being singled out for their quality in the university and nationwide assessment respectively. She has over 40 high-quality journal and conference publications in her research field.

During her postdoctoral career, she worked on single sample characterisation of miniature piezoelectric materials and on smart and high-impact-tolerant composite materials with three different research groups at the UofG, as her core research projects. She also gave the lecturers for Composite Materials and Structural Analysis and Design and Creativity Lab courses while working at UofG. She is also the UofG's ambassador in Aurora which is an Advanced HE's leadership development initiative for women.

Before coming to the UK, Sakineh was a research assistant at the University of Girona, since Sep 2020, working on designing and characterisation of 3D printed laminated composites. She was also a lecturer in mechanical engineering, and she has over 3 years of experience in the industry as a research engineer in industrial sectors related to composite materials engineering and finite element modelling in Iran. Sakineh has established a broad international network, collaborating with important academic institutions including Bristol, Strathclyde, Nottingham Trent, Birmingham, Southampton, Bologna, Delft, and Girona and industrial sectors related to her research activities.

Sakineh is now open to accept PhD and MSc student in her area of experties as below. Feel free to contact by email to ask your questions.
