About me

I teach a variety of legal modules (with an emphasis on contract/procurement law and dispute avoidance/resolution), in the Architecture and the Built Environment department, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I also do some teaching with UWE's Bristol Law School, such as Advocacy & Communication Skills on the Professoinal Skills Course for trainee solicitors.

Particular interests include dispute resolution and the development of law to accomodate emerging technologies (such as BIM, Smart Contracts, and forms of online dispute resolution).

After studying the GDL and LPC at UWE, I spent eleven years in legal practice, in commercial litigation and dispute resolution (advising clients in a number of industry sectors, including construction and development).

I obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in 2017.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I am an Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator, and I am on the Council of the Bristol Law Society.
