Area of expertise

My teaching and research interests include career development in times of economic and political uncertainty. Recently I have published on the impact of Brexit on the career decision-making of undergraduate students. From a practitioner perspective, I am interested in incorporating concepts of decent work and social justice in my practice, and enabling clients to confidently manage their career development and construct their careers in a constantly changing world of work. Of particular interest is the impact of global forces and advancing digital technologies. As programme leader and module leader for the MA/PGDip/PG Cert in Career Development, I have contributed to the design and development of the course so that it is future-facing, equipping aspiring career development professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to work in career development today.
