About me
I am a Lecturer in Robotics within the School of Engineering. I have taught technical subjects in both higher education and industry, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Bio-inspired Technologies. I also have a growing interest in 3D design and Herpetoculture.
Area of expertise
My research career has been largely around the bridging of conventional and spiking neural networks, with the aim of producing artificial systems with the capabilities of biological one, and improving our understanding of biology through robotics. This has taken place largely within the context of navigation problems; how the mammalian brain represents space, and models of how this might support the robust, flexible behaviours of real organisms.
