About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Education Department, specialising in the Art and Design PGCE course. In addition to my role UWE, I am an active teacher at a secondary school in Bristol and have I taught for 5 years, in Bristol schools before moving into higher education.

My expertise lies in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in Art, where I am dedicated to delivering a diverse curriculum that ensures representation for all students whether in mainstream or those with specific EAL, SEND, and SEMH needs. Drawing from my extensive experience in the creative industries, teaching, and my academic journey through a BA (Hons) in Drawing and Applied Arts, MA in Multi-Discplinary Printmaking and most recently an MA in Artist Teacher Practice, I am interested in researching methods to enhance social mobility, career opportunities, and representation through art education and the creative industries. From this specialism I frequently guest speak at local colleges and universities and lead professional developments sessions and INSET days around EDI, sharing my insights and experiences with colleagues. From this, I was honored with the NSEAD ‘Rising Star’ Award in 2024 for my contributions to EDI in art education.
