About me

Peter has degrees in Environmental Chemistry and Economics as well as a PhD in Ecological Economics. He is the leader of the Sustainability Economies Research Group (SERG).  His research explores environmental and energy governance challenges using empirical evidence based research as well as conceptual and theory based research to bring about economies that embody greater levels of sustainability at local and global levels.  Peter is economics editor for the Journal of Sustainable Production and Consumption.

Current funded research:

Wise use of wetlands, informed by Ecosystem Service Assessment (WESA). 2021. 

Helping ensure survival: Digitally Enhanced Advanced Services in Community Business. Funded by the Digitally Enhanced Advanced Services (DEAS) Network Plus and Power to Change. 2020 - 2021. 

Currently Director of Studies for a Funded PhD with Power to Change on Community Business. 2017 - 2021.

Past UK research council research:

EPSRC funded fellowships on the industrial and social ecology of urban resource flows and Reshaping Energy Demand of Users by Communication Technology and Economic Incentives (REDUCE).  

Teaching

Module leader: Sustainable Business and Economy; Economic Principles in a Contemporary Context. Teacher on MSc Sustainable Organisations Vision into Practice.
